You keep your recipe.

Sending us a recipe or a story does not hand it over. You keep ownership of what you wrote and what your family cooks. Nobody can own a list of ingredients, and we would not want to.

What you give us is permission to publish it — not the thing itself.

You're allowing Dietspora to publish your submission on this website, in our newsletter, and in our digital guides, and to keep it published. You're allowing us to edit it for length, spelling, and clarity — never to change what the dish is or what you meant.

If we edit it in a way that changes its substance, we'll show you first and you can say no.

Full name, first name only, initials, or fully anonymous. You choose when you submit, and you can change your mind later by emailing us.

We will never invent a name, a location, or a family relationship you did not give us. If you choose anonymous, the page says a reader contributed it and nothing more.

Please only send recipes and stories that come from you or your family, or that you have permission to share. Don't send us a recipe copied out of someone else's cookbook — we'd have to take it down, and it defeats the point.

If your story names other living people in a personal way, please make sure they're comfortable being written about.

Email us and we will take your submission down. We'll do it promptly. We cannot recall guides already downloaded onto someone's device, and we'll tell you honestly if that applies.

You do not have to give a reason.

Contributions are unpaid, and we won't pretend otherwise. Dietspora sells digital guides, and a contributed recipe may appear in one.

If we want to build a paid product substantially around your contribution, we will contact you first and agree terms before doing it.

We use your email to talk to you about your submission. We add you to the newsletter only if you asked for it, and you can leave at any time.

We don't sell your details. Nobody should have to trade their family's privacy to preserve their family's food.
